Cookie policy

Last updated .

Cookies and similar storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) are small bits of data your browser stores on our request. We use them sparingly: only what is strictly necessary for the site to work, plus optional categories you can opt in to via the banner.

Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary — always on. Required for the site to function.
  • Functional — optional preferences (e.g., dismissed banners). Off by default.
  • Analytics — privacy-friendly traffic measurement. Off by default.
  • Marketing — none currently set. Category exists so you can opt out preemptively.

Cookies and storage we set

NameCategoryPurposeDurationProvider
ddl-themeStrictly necessaryRemembers whether you chose the dark or light theme. Stored as a localStorage value.Until you clear browser storageFirst-party (this site)
ddl_consentStrictly necessaryStores your cookie consent decision so we don't prompt on every visit.Up to 12 months, then we re-promptFirst-party (this site)
ddl-consent (mirror)Strictly necessarylocalStorage mirror of the consent cookie. Same purpose; used so we can recover your choice if cookies are disabled but localStorage is allowed.Until you clear browser storageFirst-party (this site)
plausible_ignoreAnalytics (only with consent)Plausible Analytics is cookieless by design. The only storage it sets is an optional opt-out flag (plausible_ignore) for visitors who explicitly exclude themselves from aggregated traffic measurement.Until you clear browser storagePlausible Insights OÜ (plausible.io)

Managing your preferences

Open the cookie preferences any time via the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the footer. You can also clear cookies and storage at the browser level — see allaboutcookies.org for step-by-step guides per browser.

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends Sec-GPC: 1 or the legacy DNT: 1 header, we treat all non-essential categories as opt-out by default until you explicitly opt in via the banner.
